One day, I was struck by the elegance of the sooty swallowtail butterfly. I was so moved by the beauty of this butterfly that I decided to create a paper cutout of it.
I challenged myself to create a realistic depiction of a simple butterfly without much pattern by using the pointillism method of expression. By arranging round patterns in the background, the work expresses a rhythmic dance of fluttering butterflies.
